Telecoms "Pre Sales" MPLS Ethernet WAN VPLSOur client is fast expanding provider of high speed next generation Ethernet-based networking solutions to UK SMEs, Corporates and Carriers, delivering scalable, state of the art WAN and IP connectivity solutions. As well as being the first to offer VPLS in the UK, our client has been regularly ranked in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 list of fastest growing technology companies. As a result of their continued growth, they require Pre Sales Consultants to support the current and new sales teams with pre sales support internally and externally to account managers working on sales projects.
Successful candidates will have previous client facing pre sales experience based around MPLS design experience with a technical engineering background.
An exciting and challenging role which is at the heart of both the client facing and engineering operations of the business. You will be providing pre sales support internally and externally to account managers working on sales projects.
You will be expected to work as a team player with the Pre Sales Team Leader to assist in the smooth running of the department. You will receive a high level of support from the engineering department and will closely interact with the engineers during the design stage of new solutions.
Key responsibilities for this job:
• To engage with Sales Account Managers at the early stage of pre sales cycle
• To attend pre sales meetings with Sales Account Managers
• To participate in pre sales conference calls when required
• Generally to work very closely with the Account Managers to respond to tenders
• Pre sales design of technical bespoke solutions
• Management of pre sales ticketing system, used to create and track solution documents outlining the final and agreed design
• Close working relationship with the engineering department in order to validate proposed designs and solutions
• To answer any general pre sales queries for purposes of budgetary pricing
• Any other fair and reasonable task or duty assigned to you by your Manager, or other senior staff member
Knowledge and experience required:
• Significant Telecoms experience
• Significant experience in a pre sales environment with the ability to talk confidently about technical solutions
• Experience in giving customer presentations
• Good commercial acumen
• Proven technical design skills
• Any exposure to VPLS, MPLS, IP Networking, Routing Protocols, Internet Services, BGP, RGP, VRRP, IGRP or Alcatel Lucent would be advantageous
• Previous hands on technical experience is desirable
